HSC executive director Christopher Chan said the latest contract received is another testament to the company’s strong commitment to enabling safe and effective Covid-19 testing in Malaysia.
KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Seng Consolidated Bhd’s (HSC) announced today that Pantasniaga Sdn Bhd (PSB) had received a letter of award from the Ministry of Health (MoH) to supply polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test kits for Covid-19 for a contract value of RM112.32 million.
This is the largest contract that PSB has received so far following its securement of a RM34.3 million contract from MoH back on 3 February 2021.
HSC executive director Christopher Chan said the latest contract received is another testament to the company’s strong commitment to enabling safe and effective Covid-19 testing in Malaysia.
“Previously, PSB has already performed and fulfilled a few supply contracts for MoH and other government agencies to supply PCR test kits in Peninsula Malaysia and Sabah to fight the virus outbreak,” he said in a statement today.
PSB is a 51 per cent owned subsidiary of HS Bio Sdn Bhd (HS Bio), a wholly-owned subsidiary of HSC.
The PCR test kits supply is intended for the Institute Medical Research and Public Health Laboratory of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
The contract is expected to commence on 26 July 2021 and be completed on 25 July 2022.
PSB is in the business of provisioning PCR test kits and test labs set up for the government and medical agencies.
The company is also an authorized representative and distributor for BGI Genomics Co Ltd, leading genomic sequencing services and proteomic services provider, now serving customers in more than 66 countries.
BGI also produces RT-PCR kits that are one of the most reliable and widely-used testing methods available globally.
This contract is expected to contribute positively to the overall future earnings and the earnings per share for HSC.
